Rudraksha The Jabalopanishad and the Shiva Purana both declare Rudraksha to be “Rudrasya Netram” – the eye of Lord Shiva.

Like a deity’s idol or a Shaligram, it deserves respect and cleanliness.

No scripture states that it becomes cursed or useless if it falls.

Instead, they teach that when a sacred object is accidentally dropped, devotees should simply restore its purity and sanctity through repentance and chanting mantras.

The spirit behind this is humility – remembering that God should always be treated with care.

Understanding the Type of Fall

What to Do Immediately When Rudraksha Falls

Step 1. Pick It Up Respectfully
Use your right hand. Avoid stepping on or sliding it.

Step 2. Offer Apology & Mantra
Touch it to your forehead or heart center and chant softly:

Om Namah Shivaya (3 times)
or
Om Hreem Hum Namah (for energetic purification)

Step 3. Inspect
Check for visible cracks, loss of mukhi lines, or loosened drilling hole.

Step 4. Cleanse

• Rinse in pure water or Gangajal.
  
• Optional: soak briefly (10 min) in a mix of raw milk + water, then wipe clean.
  

Step 5. Re-energize (Pran Pratishtha)
Place it on a clean cloth facing East.
Light a diya and chant Om Namah Shivaya 108 times, or recite the Rudra Gayatri:
