What is Panchang?
Panchang or “Five Limbs (parts)” is an astrological journal that gives beneficial information required by an astrologer. These five limbs include Tithi (lunar day), Yoga (luni-solar day), Vara (weekday), Nakshatra (constellation), and Karana (half of a lunar day.) It is basically a Hindu calendar based on the position of celestial bodies. Panchang can tell about the auspicious time of important occasions, ceremonies, marriage, and more. Taking into consideration all these attributes, Panchang enables one to understand the quality of a particular moment or time and thereby help one to live in tune with nature or time.
